Every year at this time our small town is a favorite rest stop for thousands of Snow Geese making their annual 5000 mile migration from Southern California to Northern Canada. In the early morning they will feed in the surrounding farmers fields. later in the morning take refuge on our local reservoir, then return to the fields in the late afternoon to evening.
People come from all over the state to participate in our small town Snow Goose Festival that comes complete with Wildlife officers setting up a telescope viewing area at the reservoir to do some bird watching, a Quilt/ craft show and 5k & 10k run /walk along with other activities.
It is quite a phenomenon and they really are beautiful.
